MEET THE LODGE KEEPERS

Few lodge owners appreciate the magic of Elk Country as much as John and Liz Bartholme.


Growing up, John and his father often visited the region and enjoyed outdoor adventures exploring the valley and nearby mountains. When John and his wife retired from demanding careers, they moved back and bought a perfectly situated parcel of land where they built cozy cabins along the acreage so guests can also appreciate what makes this place special.


Their mantra is that they are “in the business of relaxation.” They’re proud that many guests have been staying with them year after year, generation after generation, and find it rewarding to help busy families take a break and get back to nature and rediscover the simplicity of what really matters.
